Unable to do patch

hi friends need help i am using win7 ultimat 32bit.. and i am able to update the win7.......
wats my problem is when i am installing a software... it is installing fine.... but when comes to activation.. if i have a patch.. i am copying that patch to that directroy... but when i am copying it is saying you'll need to provide administrator permission to copy to the folder

i am clicking continue it is copying..... but when patching it is saying...
can not access the file.maybe its in use.. please close the file before patching..
try to access the file again now?


plz any one help........

and tried with safe mode too.....

YOU MAY THINK THAT The Software ThaT I AM TRING TO PATCH IS ALREADY RUNNING BACKGROUND !! I HAD CLOSE THAT PROGRAM AND TRIED
