I found the Help and Support to be quite useful for finding your way around Win7.
Start > Help and Support >Type ' recycle ' into the search box.
Second item on the list.

Deleting the trashcan was common in Vista because there was a delete
line along with an empty line. Right click on the desktop, go to personalize
then desktop icons on the left column to restore the trashcan. Have a great
