Transfer address book from OE to Windows mail

I have a friend who got a new computer with windows 7 installed and
Windows Mail as her email program. Her old computer had winxp and
Outlook Express. I want to transfer her address book from the old
computer to the new one. I did the following:

In the XP machine I opened IE and clicked on the file menu and then
Export and then Address Book.

I next selected "Text File (Comma Separated Values)" and then clicked
export, gave it a name, and saved it to a flash drive. The file had a
..csv extension.

Next, I inserted the flash drive into the new computer and opened
Windows Mail and clicked on "File" but here I ran into trouble. There
was no "Import" command, only an "Import mail" command. How can I import
the csv file from the flash drive to the new computer with Windows Mail?
I am new to Windows 7.

Did she hack in Vista's Windows Mail, or do you mean Windows Live Mail?
This is for the latter, but they would be similar.

You don't export the OE Address Book from IE.

Open the Address Book in OE and File | Export | Address Book (wab) and
save it to the Desktop. Copy to a flash drive. Place this on the Desktop
or other location on the machine using WLMail.

Open the Contacts list in WLMail, (Go | Contacts on the Menu Bar), and
File | Import | Windows Address Book (wab) and point to where you saved
it.

Note: If you use a CD or DVD instead of a flash drive, after placing on
the new machine you must remove the Read Only attribute in Properties
before you import.
