I'm new to Windows 7 but definitely not new to computing. Most problems I
can solve but this one has me stumped.
During the install and initial startup, Windows 7 had trouble with my slave
drive, where I keep all my data (including My Documents). I could see it in
Computer Management and System, but it did not show in Computer. After
fiddling around, I arbitrarily assigned the slave drive a new letter (A:\; I
have no floppy) just for kicks and was surprised when that solved the
problem. I fiddled around with 7 for several hours getting the feel of it,
made a couple of themes, and went to bed.
The next day I reassigned the slave drive and the CD and DVD as D:\, E:\,
and F:\ respectively. I changed the paths in My Documents and My Pictures
to point to the D:\ drive. Of course that messed up my themes, so I deleted
them and went to recreate them. However, when I try to point to D:\My
Documents\MyPictures\Nature for new wallpaper, Windows insists that the
Nature folder is on a the A:\ drive, which of course no longer exists. If I
try to point it to a folder other than Nature in \My Pictures, Windows does
nothing.
So, the $64 question is: How do I get Windows to recognize all of the
folders in \My Pictures in its new location?
