They finally brought the UK comedy, "The IT Crowd" back for a fourth season. This week will be episode 3.

Though I think they are slow to get going this season it's a pretty hilarious show about I.T. geeks. The manager doesn't know anything about IT, she just fakes it. The funniest episode ever was the one where she had to make a presentation to the board and the geeks, trying to show everyone she was clueless, made a box with a flashing light on it and said it was the internet. She's like "but there are no wires". Techs, "of course not, it's wireless." I don't want to spoil the ending for you in case you look up the old episodes but I will say I laughed my arse off.

It must be on Friday nights (maybe Thursday) in the UK. As an American I acquire it later.

And they offer best first step advice for any windows problem ... They always answer the phone "I.T., have you tried turning it off and back on again?"

Haha, I love this show :D.

I missed most of Season 3, so I'm going to have to catch up on that soon.

If any readers of this thread are in the UK, you can watch it online at 4od:

TrainableMan, out of interest, do you find any of the references in the IT Crowd a bit obscure or does it translate quite well? There are some things which I guess are quite UK specific (such as the countdown reference from an episode I saw the other day), but I guess most things are universal.

Occasionally a line of dialogue doesn't mean anything to me, especially if it has to do with people in your news, but it is so hilarious at times that it isn't a big deal.

And I didn't realize countdown was an actual game-show, although I had seen an episode with Who Want's To Be A Millionaire "S01E03 Fifty-Fifty" and we have that here as well so it doesn't really surprise me. Street countdown with 14 letters, go Moss!

I thought they should have kept Richmond, the Goth fellow, from season 2 around; I thought he was funnier than the politically incorrect boss.

Another comedy from your side of the pond that I laughed my butt off at was "Coupling" even though it also had the occasional reference I wouldn't get. They actually tried a version here with different actors but almost the identical script but it didn't even finish one season before being canceled. I thought it was pretty good and the one lady in the US version was smoking hot but they blamed its' failure on lack of chemistry between the cast members.

Yep, Countdown is a real quiz show and almost has a cult following - even though it's incredibly tame, I suppose it's because it's been going on for many years.

I've not seen coupling before, but I'll keep an eye out for that :).

Red Dwarf and Father Ted used to be excellent comedies, but they are now about 10 years old or so I guess.

Coupling was on from 2000-2004. I actually saw those four years after I saw the Coupling U.S. which was in 2003. It was very sexually oriented humor, generally pitting the guys against the girls.

I like SciFi so Red Dwarf I've heard of, maybe even seen a couple episodes but I don't remember it. Even Dr. Who I've only seen 8 or 9 episodes.

Father ted (1995-1998) I've never heard of.

I've just started watching an old British TV show on HULU called SPACED. I've seen 4 episodes so far and quite honestly this one I don't find very funny.

UPDATE: I finished watching all the episodes of spaced and though it was occasionally funny I do see why it went off the air.

I loved the episode of I.T. crowd from two weeks ago with the mysterious package and the bomb robot that was malfunctioning. Moss asks what OS is it using and the technician says Vista. Moss shouts out "We're all gonna die!"
