taskbar color and font

J

Jeff

I am using Windows 7 64 bit on a new laptop and decided to turn off some
of the aero features. Now the taskbar (at the bottom of the Windows
screen) is a light grey color and the text on it is in white which makes
it difficult to see.

Is there a way to change the color of the fonts used n the taskbar, or
the background color of the taskbar?

Thanks. Jeff

I misspoke. It is when disabled transparency the white text became hard
to see on the taskbar background.

I don't use Aero or transparency. I use Windows Classic, and I can set
the colors with the Windows Color option at the bottom of the
Personalization window. I don't know if that is available for the
fancier formats.

I had a look at that earlier. I also use Windows Classic, but couldn't
see any way to change the taskbar colour other than using one of the
inbuilt themes.

You can set the taskbar color independently, but "3D Objects" sets the
colors for the taskbar and window frames.

I tried 3D Objects and saw that option to change the font color was (set
to a dark color) but grayed out which is why the text is white.

I gave up and re-allowed transparency. The lesser of two evils.

Thanks guys.
