To increase the amount of space set aside for restore points...
Type Restore Point into the start search and select create a restore point. Click the Configure button and move the slider to something appropriate. I have mine set to 39GB which is 10% on my system drive; with that I get 16 or 17 restore points.
Mine was set at 3% (HDD is 298 GB. Its actually 320GB but I have partioned drive os as to contain the Paging file - and yes Paging file is up front).
I now set the System Restore to 20%.
Will give it a few days to see if Restore Points shows more Points.
Made a discovery by chance. I mentioned earlier that even though I had restore set for 20% of my 250gig drive it only had 3 points and was only using around 45gig of space.
I deleted all the restore points and re-enabled it. It would have wanted 170gig for that same 20% setting. Weird, so I've now dialed it back to 10%. I'll wait and see now if more the 3 points accumulate.
