To Synaptics Touch Pad People,

I must have a Synaptics Touch Pad Driver on my computer, where I use Windows 7, because a little window shows up about every 30 seconds all day long saying:
"YOUR TOUCH PAD HAS BEEN DISABLED BECAUSE THE SYNAPTICS TOUCH PAID DRIVER HAS DETECTED ANOTHER POINTING DEVICE PLUGGED INTO YOUR COMPUTER."

Can anyone tell me how to disable this thing so it doesn't bother me every minute of the day? I don't even want to use it. I only use a mouse.

Thanks a lot,
Walker

We are not with Synaptics or Microsoft, we are just other users trying to help.

I suggest you try this:
Microsoft said:
  1. Click Start, type main.cpl in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.
  2. Click the Device Settings tab.
  3. Click to clear the Disable internal pointing device when external USB pointing device is attached check box.
