Surfing on the Internet while Windows 7 is updating?

Good evening!

I usually start installing Windows 7 form the original DVD and my question is if it would be ok to surf on the Internet while Windows is updating.
I think when one is installing Windows 7 with the ISOs that they include SP1.
In my case i am starting from the DVD i think i will have more Updates to install.
Most of the surfing work during the installation process i am doing inside Oracle Virtual Box but sometimes i need to download an ISO that i why i am asking that question.
I have the newest Firefox.exe on a USB stick, would it be ok do install Firefox and download some ISO files?

Surfing or downloading may slow the updates in your virtual W7 installation, it really depends on your bandwidth. But other than possibly being slower, it shouldn't hurt anything.
