Suppress F8 Function in IE8?

A

In IE8 when you hit the F8 key, it causes the browser to go into
full-screen mode.

Any way to suppress this behavior?

It should be F11 you need your keyboard fixed

Use Firefox, Opera or Chrome. Internet Exploder is not a recommended
thing to use if you want to keep your computer safe.
Thanks for nothing.

What does that have to do with his request to prevent the browser from being
in full screen mode.? The F11 key does the same thing in Firefox as well.

Actually that's the F11 key. But why are you hitting it anyway while in IE?
Wouldn't simply not hitting that key while browsing be better anyway?

Depending on the version of Win7 you're running, you can disable it in Group
Policy, IINM.

Thanks for the first useful response... I'm running W7 64 - Could you
be a little more specific though?

Its not false, ubuntard.
I use IE exclusively in Windows ... never a problem.
Never.
But I'm sure you can find a link to a few morons who have had a problem.
No, you're stupid.
No you are.
Now what?

Sorry , Group Policy is not available in the Home versions.

I'm not on my Win7 PC right now, but will be later. I'll look on it and see
if there's anything else I can find that might help.

You're probably infected and part of a net bot and don't even know it.

Try MILLIONS.

Those who use "I know you are but what am I?" are what? Third graders.
Uhhh... that was YOU.

No, you are trully an ubuntard.
And, as an aside, IE is plenty safe.
Maybe you get all hacked up ... but most users don't.

You're probably infected and part of a net bot and don't even know it.
I'm not infected by anything.
I do have Linux on a separate HDD.
But that don't count.
Try MILLIONS.
Produce links to millions of unique cases.
Type them up real nice, make a graph, bake a pie chart, put it all up on
a website, and *prove* it.
Those who use "I know you are but what am I?" are what? Third graders.
If I were in the third grade, you would look an even bigger fool.
I know what I am.
I'm not an ubuntard.
You, my friend, are the poster-child of what an ubuntard is.

Those of us that know how to use security settings and zones in IE were
never at risk.

Sorry, I got nothing. I tried a number of the suggestions I found for
registry edits, and none worked for me. And I didn't find anything natively
in mine (Home Premium also) that would disable F11.

You might want to try a key remapping program.
I am using one to remap the Caps Lock key so that
it does nothing. The program I am using is called
"Comfort Keys."

As I stated, it has to do with security. And, he was talking about the F8
key that does *nothing* in Internet Exploder.
Had you read the later post, he stated he mentioned the wrong key.

What a desperate POS lying linturd loser you are.
Not on this one.

At least 80% of Windows users are clueless and virtually computer
illiterate, so I would agree that at least that many have no idea what
securtiy settings or security zones are.

Declaring yourself and others as the "winners" is about as lame as you
can get.
you spelled that wrong.....

It's not w i n n e r s, the correct spelling is whiners.

Get it right !!
