I have windows vista. although i want to upgrade to windows 7 i can't afford the installation disc.

My dad bought me Mike Myers Guide to Supporting Windows 7. Well that does not help me because i can't afford to upgrade at the moment and i am getting frustrated. .

I want to create a bootable system repair disk but vista does not have repair you computer option on the advanced boot option menu. how do i do this using vista?

You need to open up Windows Backup and on the left side of the window you'll see the option to creates a System Repair Disk. That's where everything is is. It creates a bootable repair disk that you need to boot your pc from to use the various tools, like Startup Repair, etc. If the cd version is off Vista prior to Service Pack 1 or 2, you'll need to do a web search and download the files to make a bootable disk. The one inside Windows Backup, definitely won't make the correct disk if you have Vista SP2 installed. I know that from personal experience.
