I've finally managed to track down the reason my Win7 won't
automatically go into sleep mode: it's the sound card. ANY sound card.
I've tested exhaustively, switching between onboard (via) and two
different other cards, one soundblaster internal, one usb external. When
the soundcard- any of them - is disabled, windows goes properly to
sleep. When it's enabled, only the monitor goes off.
What the hell is that all about?
Any ideas what might cure it?
