some pictures and videos not showing up

On some sites some of the pictures won't show up. I'll just get a box
with a little windows type symbol in the upper right corner. The text
is fine. This will also happen with some videos I try to download.
I'd appreciate any ideas on whats going on with this. Thanks.

What are the sites in question? Is it always the same ones? What kind
of Internet connection is involved? Is it otherwise flaky and
unstable? What can we learn about the specific computer involved? Has
a second computer been tried at this location? Has a second browser
been tried on this computer? What happens when the page is refreshed?
What happens when a Shift-Refresh is performed?

It's hard to offer a solution because I only have about 5% of the
situation. Fill in some gaps, please.
