set Default audio out to hdmi device

on VISTA, when I connected my laptop hdmi to an external tv...by default the video AND the sound would redirect to the tv....with Windows 7, however, I have to willfully redirect the sound to the tv...is there a way to by default redirect the sound to the external hdmi device...
