Security Updates

I have Win 7 64 bit and my available updates showed 7 updates, all of them
security updates. I tried to install them all and it failed at 15% complete
several times. The largest update (the first one shown) was listed as a
"cumulative update" indicating perhaps that it might have already included
the other 6? I tried installing it by itself and it worked. When I now go
to Win Updates it still shows the other 6 still available but if I try to
install them the install starts and then fails. It resets itself back to
before the attempt. Any ideas?

Find out what the KB number are, use Bing or Google and search for the
KB numbers. That way you can download and manually do them one at a time.

The only cumulative update released in August was for Internet Explorer.
- i.e. that update did not include the other six.

If you have got KB2647753 in the list, install it separately.

Bingo!!!! Thanks Mick. *753 installed separately after it edited the
Registry during restart. Then I was able to install the other 5 together.

If you have got KB2647753 in the list, install it separately.

You're welcome. It took me half a dozen restarts before I found it.
If it happens to you again when trying to install multiple updates,
install the updates in small batches until you find the one that is
causing the problem.
