searching by "tags" doesn't work for indexed location

Hi

I have photos tagged as "cars".
when I search with the following syntax:

tags:cars

- they show up in the search. so far so good
but If I index the folder those photos are located, after index , they do not show if I do the same search:

tags:cars

seems that the search function doesn't utilize the "tags" search if the location is indexed.

what can be done about that ?

Just a guess ...
Control panel>Indexing options. Advanced button. File Types tab.
Might be worth it to try changing "Index Properties Only" tor "Index Properties and File contents".

Also while you are in there make sure your picture folders are not Excluded from indexing.

checked that. it is not excluded.

I honestly don't know, hopefully someone comes along with a better answer.

As an alternative you might try a different piece of software. We have a search program in our freeware database called Everything which may be worth trying.

"Everything" doesn't seem to search in tags
