screen capture utility & multi-entry clipboard

I used to use a screen capture utility that you could use to capture
various parts of the screen, such as the active window, a specific
rectangle on the screen, etc. Each feature available with a different
hotkey combo. It would then automatically save the picture to disk based
on a customizable naming scheme. That utility no longer works under
Windows 7. I know that Windows 7 comes with its own utility called
Snipping Tool, but that's not really as convenient as my old utility,
it's a bit pokey actually. Any free utils that you can suggest?

Also I'm looking for a good free multiple entry clipboard recall
utility. Something that you can capture stuff and it'll automatically
remember them and you can pick and choose from a bunch of recent ones. I
found a utility called PasteCopy.net, but I'm not too sure this one is
for me. Any other suggestions?

I did mention in the original message that that is exactly what I'm
looking for a *replacement* for.

Dear Bob,

I was looking for a similar utility; what you have mentioned below is 7
years old, does it work on Windows 7? (no pun intended).

Why don't you read the thread ?
He doesn't want the snipping tool.

It may not be (entirely) her fault. It seems she's using some kind of
web-to-Usenet gateway, and it's apparently not doing her any favors.

If she's using a web interface to access Usenet then it's entirely her fault in my book !
Doubly so if she's a Microsoft employee, she ought to know better. She doesn't even
quote the message she's replying to.
Hopeless! :)

Thanks, this link had two utilities listed for clipboard extenders, one
was PasteCopy.Net which was the one I had tried out previously and
didn't like so much. In fact this one was a bitch to try to uninstall.
Even after uninstalling it, it remained behind, I had to use the manual
delete to get rid of it finally, and then I had eliminate its startup in
the registry!

However, the other utility suggested, M8 Freeclip is perfect! It's even
better than my previous program that I was using under XP, so I'm going
to put this one into my XP laptop too. Thanks!

Do you believe that she is a Microsoft employee?

I assumed she had something to do with Microsoft by the style of the post, no quoting
the original post, not reading the original post and being 10 days behind everyone else.
Who cares anyway. :)
