Scanner Driver

So it looks like HP will not be providing a Win 7 driver for my old HP 6300c
scanner. With Windows XP Pro, the scanner operated with the (as I remember)
the scanner and camera wizard. I think that I just plugged in the USB and
the wizard came up. Is there anything comparable in Win 7?

thanks

It's possible that W7 has native drivers that will work with your
scanner. Plug it in and see.

The scanning interface that comes with W7 is actually not all that
bad.

Are there any Vista drivers you could try ?
Get the latest drivers from Hp that you can. Vista If possible then Right
click on the setup exe and pick Properties. Then select the Compatibility
Tab and install as Vista or XP. Disable HP update checker as in my Case It
updated and I lost my special feature and Had to re install the drivers for
My HP 4890 to get the slide scan back

This is a common problem. My Epson scanner won't work under
Windows 7 because Epson can't be bothered writing an updated
driver for it. They'd rather force people to buy new scanners.
Well, I haven't bought a new scanner, and when I do, it won't ever
be an Epson. You may want to think about installing Windows Vista
or XP as a second operating system, just so that you can keep
using your scanner. It's a pain but better than throwing out a
perfectly good scanner.

If they don't want a full second operating system installed, they could
see if their machine will run the Windows 7 XP Mode, it will install and
handle their old scanner stuff with no problem.

Just install in Compatibility mode works in Home and all Versions. See my

Try www.hamrick.com vuescan
It's a combined driver/application that works with lots and lots of
scanners.

Worked great with my 64-bit Win7 and old Epson Perfection.

Test it free for 30-days, only pay for it ($40 I think) if it works.
