restore points

when I download updates for MS security essentials it always puts a restore
point in,since I installed win 7 sp1 it no longer does that,is that normal.

I have been using MS security since before W-7. I normally do not get
the creating restore point thing. I still have a couple times but it was
only after something major that also required a reboot. Those were the
only times I remember getting the restore point message. I update daily
and the norm seems to be it checks, downloads, installs, and then tells
me all is up to date.
