Removing Win messenger.

When I changed this machine from Vista to Win-7 I downloaded WLM for news
groups. It's the only thing I use it for. When doing it I had been told here
that you could choose different things from the Live essentials. I missed
something when I did, because I loaded Windows messenger too.
Every time I start the PC from complete shutdown it is asking me to set it
up. Looking at the remove programs I cant find it to remove it. It does not
pop up after re start from sleep or Hibernate, so it's not big deal if I
have to just close it once a day, but if there is an easy way to just drop
it I will.

It's in Windows Live Essentials.
Click on that, click on "Uninstall/Change", the "uninstall one or more
Windows Live Programs" radio button should be checked, click on "continue"
and you will be given the option of uninstalling WM.

They kind of hid the removal stuff. Anyway...
* Control Panel, Windows Live Essentials, then click Uninstall/Change
* Select Uninstall - then continue
* Select (check box) the program you would like to uninstall

OK, thanks guys, that worked fine. Removed several things it had loaded that
I am never going to use, and my Usenet is still here. <G>

Go to Run. Type in msconfig. Go to start up and uncheck it.

There is, just look for Windows Live Essentials in the Programs and
Features area of the control panel. When the uninstaller starts up it
will ask which Windows Live programs you want to uninstall.
