My installed version of PureText (format stripping) has mysteriously
stopped working. Has anyone any ideas? Possibly, I should uninstall and
download again.

Nope.

Maybe, try "system restore" first. IMHO

It doesn't get installed. It comes as a tiny exec file. You click on it
and it loads, puts an icon in the Systray, and just sits there patiently
waiting until something comes along heading for the clipboard.

If yours has stopped working, get a new copy, delete the old one.
