Problems with CD and DVD Drives

When trying to install Finale 7 I receive the following error message:

E:\: can't read file header! Unknown file format, empty name, or file not found.
(for unicode filenames please activate the unicode PlugIn 'properties -> languages')

Does anybody have any ideas what this means and how to fix it?

Sounds like the DVD is bad/not formatted properly. Or if it the drive is doing this for all DVDs/CDs then it's probably time to replace the DVD-Rom; this can usually be done easily yourself for about $40.
