I'm new to Win 7 and I can't read all the light blue print in the basic windows.
I know how to "Personalize" and I like the basic Windows 7 theme, but I'd just like to make all the text a little darker. Choosing the different "Contrast" options give changes that are EXTREME. The same thing is true when choosing Display icon sizes: tiny, medium and huge. I didn't seem to have this problem with NP.

One answer for the icon size. You do not have to choose the three options. Hold down the Ctrl and then scroll. The icon size on the desktop will follow the scroll to the size you require and remain permanent.
For the color. Have you tried adjusting the "Clear type Text" in the personalisation options?

Thank you Davehc,
Something worked because I can read the text much better today.
I found all of the options in "Clear Type Text" were good. I hadn't realized that there were options. My first glance at CTT gave me the impression is was an On of Off thing.
I just got the changing view by {Ctrl][Scroll] to work. That's fantastic!
Appreciate you taking the time to respond. Thanks again.

Glad you sorted it. Now you have got somewhere, it may be worth your while to play around with the CTT a little. I have always found if I work through it, and select the darkest and sharpest in each window, I finish up with a really pronounced text - almost too much!!
