I've got an old iP3000 Canon inkjet printer connected with a USB cable to a
Windows Media Center desktop. The drivers (and print applications) were
installed from the CD that came with the printer, and it has been working
fine for years. I now want to install it on a Win 7 x86 desktop.
Should I just connect it with the USB cable, and let (or see if) Windows
will automatically install it, and then install the printing applications
from the CD, or install updated drivers, if available from Canon, and then
install the print applications from the CD? Either way, the main thing is
that I also want the print applications.
(I did have an even older i560 Canon inkjet installed on a Vista, with the
original drivers from the i560 CD, with additional instructions from Canon,
so I figure the newer iP3000 will work on Win7.)
TIA
