Permission Nonsense

I am trying to delete an MP3 file and get the message: You require
permission from the computer's administrator to make changes to this
file. I am the administrator for this single user computer. What is
this all about?

How to take ownership of a file or a folder in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308421

Try that and see if it will delete.

Thanks, but the Windows7 was no help at all. The file doesn't seem to
realize that I have the required permissions to remove it.
Did you follow the instructions and give yourself full ownership?

Give this freeware program a try. It has removed many things for me
that Windows of various versions had messed with.

Users are advised to pay attention while installing this ad-supported
application:

· Offers to download or install software or components that the program
does not require to fully function: Bing Toolbar and QuickStores
· Offers to create desktop or start menu shortcuts for items unrelated
to the program's functionality

The program works just fine even if you decline, like most of us, the
above mentioned crapware, or as they call it ad-supported applications
during the installation.
