I have recently upgraded to Windows 7 but now I am unable to open some of my older cd-r's. I get the message that the disk is blank, but I know that isn't so. The files were created on Windows ME (or possibly Vista) if I remember right. Is there a solution for this problem? I REALLY do not want to recreate these files as it is pages and pages of typing! Thank you for any help in this manner.

If you're using the same CD-ROM, my guess would be to either update the firmware on it, or perhaps your bios. These downloads should be available from the machine manufacturer. If you need a quick fix, try the CD-R in another machine and copy the contents to a flash drive.
