not able to join domain through VPN

I have windows7 professional on my laptop.
when i try to join laptop to domain it give error check domain name.
but when i use LAN i can join domain with no errors.
can anyone suggest why it is giving error with VPN.

Have you tried Windows Connect Now in Windows 7 Professional? It can help you through connecting to a network.

thanks for your reply but i contacted with cisco,for it. they said featured is not available with their vpn client...
