No Sound!? ☻ [Solved]

My microphone or headset and speakers don't work at all! Windows 7 doesn't detect them? But why? I updated the drivers and it said they are fully up to date and these accessories worked perfectly in XP the day before the installation? Can someone tell me what's wrong? Thank you!

Which sound card are you using? Have you checked volume levels and mute options?

It's fixed, and no it wasn't on mute.

Why do people assume most people who come here are noobs?

It was some sort of driver issue.

Had to uninstall it then reinstall it and restart.

It wasn't intended as an insult - because you didn't specify a sound card I just had to take a guess. If we treated everyone as an expert then we'd end up confusing plenty of people, so until we can establish the level of expertise there's no harm in starting with the basics

I don't know too much about current sound cards, but I'm sure some others here will If you make a new thread in the hardware section with an outline of what you are after (i.e. budget and if you are using it for gaming) and then hopefully we can some up with some ideas.
