No Security Tab to set permissions on folders and files

O

oldMacdonald

I have Win7 Ultimate X86. I have some folders/files I need to delete, but can't because I can't take ownership of them.

I can't take ownership because in Explorer when I right click on the files/folder ther is no security tab.

I also have a PC with Ultimate X64 and it the security tab is there for it.

I have googled the hell out of this and found no solution.

I know there are some people here that may question why I need to take ownership. Please don't go there it's inmaterial. I need to delete them end of story and just need a solution.

Thanks

Are these folder/files on the system drive (where Windows was installed to)
or a different or external drive? Do you have specific paths you can mention
cause that could make a difference too.

Have you tried to logon to the system using the hidden super admin
account?

Are they _real_ folders? Or are they folders with an arrow or padlock on
their icon?

Super Admin account? Where is that located? I do technical support and
this would be of great assistance to our jobs.
