No new shortcut

When I right click and try to create a new shortcut, nothing happens.
Does anybody know how to solve this ?

Something like mklink will do the trick until you get the problem sorted.

I just tried mklink but again nothing happens (not even an error message)

Can you right-click on the intended target, drag it into the folder
where you want to make the shortcut, and then select Make Shortcuts
Here?

However, Stan's method should work on your system, and it's often quite
convenient as an alternate way to make a shortcut.
