Bruce.
This is a new clean install of Windows 7 SP1, current on all available
updates.
Desktop computer.
Hibernate worked just XP before Windows 7 was installed clean (not an
upgrade).
When I select the Shutdown dropdown, there is no Hibernate menu pick.
Sleep is there, but not Hibernate.
I have already tried running:
powercfg.exe /hibernate on
in an Administrator command prompt. It executes without error. No
change to the Shutdown dropdown.
The Control Panel Power settings does not have a Hibernate Enable option
as I have seen others mention. It does have sleep option to Hibernate
after 'n' seconds of Sleep is there and it works. Sleeps for 1 minute
and then automatically Hibernates.
If I search the registry, I find a HibernateEnabled set to 1.
If I execute this command at the command prompt, it Hibernates immediately:
shutdown -h
Hibernate clearly works fine, but I can't seem to enable the menu pick.
Anyone have a suggestion?
Thanks.
Bruce.
