I installed both versions 32 and 64 bit

Do we need both versions installed? I've only had the 32 bit version installed, to my knowledge, I've never had the 64 bit version installed at all.

I've tried a few 64 bit browsers, they're not quite ready yet, so I no longer use them. Now, at least I know what the 64 bit Java is for.

IE9 is ready now with a decent 64-bit browser and the latest Flash 64-bit plug-in.

I mess around with it sometimes.

I suggest you install the 64 bit if you are running W7 as if you ever use Internet Explorer found in program files folder. I am sure you know W7 comes with the 32 bit and 64 bit versions of Internet explorer

Cat: If you use a 64 bit browser you need the 64 bit Java.

That's what davehc told me several posts ago. I may try out the 64 bit IE, the ones from Mozilla, I tried them, they just aren't quite ready yet.

I'll download & install the 64 bit Java update, in case I need it.

Cat this is off subject, but IE is basically the only 64 bit browser that currently works.
