Hi, I am running Windows 7, and have been having some strange events. My question is, under Manage Wireless Networks, My ATT modem comes up, I click on it, and under the Security tab there is Security Type which is currently marked NO authentication (Open) , then Encryption Type which is WEP, and under it is my security key. My question is should Security Type be left as No Authentication (Open)? Thanks.

WEP is terrible security. You should be using PSA2-PSK.

And for authentication I like MAC addressing if you know all the devices that connect. Basically the MAC address of each and every device you want to connect must be extracted from the device and stored in the router's MAC address table. Nothing but those MAC addresses are allowed to use the router.
