Mulitple Network Cards In Win7

Greetings all,
I heard from a friend of mine that Win7 supports mulitple network cards.
Specifically, having more than one Nic (network card) installed and connected to the same router, thus doubling transfer speeds to and from the network/web.
Is this true and has anyone tried this?
