As I understand it, MS Security Essentials is for 32bit Win 7. Does anyone
know if there is a 64 bit in the works?

Thank you.

It works just fine on x64.
Thank you. I read an article on the 'net that said it was just 32 bit. I
didn't believe it so that is why I asked here.

Thanks again.

Thank you. I just shows that whatever an article says on the 'net it should
be checked.

Thank you.

So how do people like MSE? Not resource hungry like old Norton is it?

I have been using it since shortly after it went out after testing.
Seems to work great. When you download it you do have to make sure you
chose the 64 bit version if you have a 64 bit PC.
I switched to it since I figured that MS would be less likely to let
out an update that would screw up their own stuff. So far it seems great.
The last couple of reports here, rate it pretty highly.

The only negative for Microsoft, is a relatively slow scanning speed
rating of 5.9MB/sec. By comparison, Kaspersky was rated 9.8MB/sec.
But on balance, I'm surprised by how well they're doing. They're doing
the important things, well.
