Mozilla firefox has no icon to start email program.........

***Note I personally don't use Firefox for other than checking website creation compatibility but these seemed some of the better solutions pertaining to Firefox and Windows Live Mail ***

Why don't you just create a "live mail" shortcut on your desktop?
That way, you can use it without opening your browser first.
