Is that a rhetorical question? I'm sure there's some case where the
answer is yes, under certain conditions, but for the most part, no, it
should (and does) run fine.
I installed Office 2010 with Outlook on my Win 7 machine. I don't think
you are going to have any problems with more recent versions of Outlook
for POP3 and SMTP.
