Menu Problem

Hi, it used to be when I inserted a thumb drive, external drive, or an
SD disk, a menu used to pop up asking what I wanted to do. Now that menu
does not show up and I'm wondering how to correct it.

search for autoplay
choose to 'change default settings ..'

The setting should be set to 'ask me every time' in order to see the
menu of options.

It's up to you what actions you want for the different media types

You could also try choosing 'reset all defaults' (bottom left)

I could be wrong, but I think that autoplay was thought to be dangerous
with respect to Malware and viruses. You may be able to turn it on, but
it might not be a wise decision.

"5. Uninstall conflicting software

Some software application, especially disc image image editing program
and virtual drive utilities such as Nero, PowerISO, MagicISO, Alcohol
120%, and even some other programs such as Rhapsody, MotoHelper or
Motorola driver software and various VMWare virtualization products like
VMWare Server and VMWare Workstation will cause conflict with AutoPlay
functionality."

Putting a shortcut link to your thumbdrive/external drive on your desktop
could be an alternative.
