My system has been hijacked by the FBI malware. Cannot start the system
up in regular Windows. I have been able to get up in Safe Mode. I did a
search on the FBI thing and got many hits claiming to find and delete
the bad guy but am Leary of the claims and don't trust many of the sites.

Has anyone been blocked by this one and have had success in ridding the
system of it? If so, what did you use?

Try these. They are reputable tools.

Download the free versions of these tools. Check for updates first and then
run a full scan with each.

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware

SpywareBlaster

Can you try a system restore in safe mode? Afterwards you should be able
to scan with any well known anti virus.

I am unable to do a System Restore (says it can't find any although I
know there are 3), nor can I do a System Restore point.

I downloaded the Antimalware from http://www.malwarebytes.org , ran it
and it located 4 files that it said were infected. I chose to delete
them (reluctantly) and restarted the system. WOW - problem solved.
Everything appears to work. I will buy the Pro version of this software
and use it.

Thanks much!

Glad it worked. Malware Bytes has a deservedly good reputation.

One cannot "run a full scan" with Spywareblaster. Perhaps you were
thinking of SuperAntiSpyware? I use Malwarebytes, SuperAntiSpyware,
Iobit's Malware Fighter and Avast. All are free but only Avast and Malware
Fighter give you real time protection for free.

You're absolutely right. I had intended to insert SuperAntiSpyware. They are
right next to each other in my CRs, hence the error.
