Linksys WRT110 and Windows7

My old but trusty XP PRO machine is failing and will be replaced with a new
windows7 machine. I plan to use the same WRT110 with the new machine. Has
any reader connected a WRT110 router and Windows7?

It's standard Ethernet. Of course it'll work. Why wouldn't it?

The fact that you are going from a Windows XP machine to a Windows 7
one doesn't matter. A router connects hardware, and the operating
system isn't really involved.

I didn't see anything about Windows compatibility in the firmware
Release Notes. Can you point it out?

like to get some details about it.

I could be wrong, or maybe it was because of Vista coming with
IPv6 enabled. I looked around but couldn't find anything solid.

I'm going to keep looking.

There were also some updates in regards to a change in some of the published
IEEE standards. I remember troubleshooting such an issue with
Vista/Outlook2007 where syncing to the exchange server over RDP in a remote
site wouldn't work properly/reliably until updating the router. Router in
question at the time was the RV042.

I'd have to dig through old notes to find the specific standard.

I agree with you that there are no direct firmware update listings for
Win7, but I've found that firware updates aren't operating system dependent.
Looking at the FAQ notes for Win7 found at
http://www.linksysbycisco.com/US/en/support/WRT110 don't indicate any odd
installation requirements. Have a great day.
