Ok so has anybody else had an Windows update issue with these 2 particular updates, KB974431 & KB972270? They won't install on my system. I managed to install everything else without a problem. Just these two have a problem. Then also which I don't know if it's related, but when I went to the "Turn Windows features on or off" the pop-up displayed nothing. It was blank. After some research on some other sites I found one guy who had to delete the registry entries based on a log in the C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR. After I deleted the files that were shown corrupt by the CheckSUR log the "Turn Windows features on or off" was back and I was able to access those features to turn on or off as I needed. However after deleting these registries those updates still get an error when I use Windows Update. Any ideas why these two updates have an issue. I have found others with this same issue but they were Vista related to those updates so they used different fixes. Specifically sfc /scannow cmd line. I did that and it says my system checks out fine. So I'm at a loss about these 2 updates.

Did you research them ? Do you need them ???

Lots of people were having trouble with it , just don`t install it.

Hide it.

I researched them at length. As I mentioned above I found it started with Vista. I have no idea if I need them. I'm just a little surprised MS has let this issue go on for so long. I think the KB972270 corrupted my registry causing the problem I had I explained in my initial post about this.

I have had a couple of time where Windows 7 updates wouldn't install the first or second time but after a couple of days or so, they would finally install.

Why this is I do not know, but it does happen. Be patient and see what happens.

I think we all need to remember Windows 7 in the world of computing is still a very young operating system and will not be flawless, so lets give it a bit of time I'm sure its worth it ;)
