Jump list doesn't show up on start menu

I can't to get the jump list on start menu when hovering over the word icon or notepad icon, etc. I do see the arrow next to the icons but nothing shows up. They however, appear on the taskbar without problems. See attachment.

I have enabled this function in the start menu properties

I've tried to find a solution for so long but in vain.
