IT WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WM works on W-7 :-))) JOY! JOY!!!!

WM works on W-7 and few hoops had to be jumped through. All the WM files
from Vista were once again moved under Program Files on W-7. The folder name
was changed to Windows-Mail instead of Windows Mail. I added the - with no
spaces. The correct 64-bit msoe dll was added removing the 32-bit dll. The
correct dll is larger then the 32-bit from Vista. Then I created a shortcut
(WinMail.exe) to the desktop, clicked it and WM opened. That was all it
took!

I sure hope this helps others who may not know to replace the msoe dll and
install it under Programs Files, not PF (x86). No need to tolorate WLM if
you don't like it. :)

Though presumably you won't receive any security fixes?

Why would she need any security fixes. It is a mail client. OE which many still use
stopped giving any Security fixes log before 2006 when the OE team was dissolved on
the Campus..
Nothing at all wrong with using VM on Win 7

If you'd learn how to configure them, all can prevent HTML.
As I don't run OE/WM/WLM I have little need to learn how to configure
them, but I'm sure they can. The issues I have/had with OE was that it
out of the box it was configured to send HTML, display HTML, run scripts
and be pretty lax about launching executable content ... all the least
safe options by default.

Yeah, who needs security, anyways? Using outdated, obsolete e-mail clients
is much better!
Outdated? WM? Since when? Millions of people with Vista are still using it.
I have no need of the useless (to me) features WLM contains.

Umm - I'm using Win7 Home Premium 32bit and am tempted to return from WLM
Version 2011 (Build 15.4.3002.0810) to WM, but feel uneasy about using WM it
when it is unsupported with security fixes. Is there a significant risk
assuming other security precautions such as firewall, anti malware and anti
virus are in place?
