Is 64 bit 32 bit compatible?

I have a commercial printing plate maker and I currently use Win XP to communicate with the printing hardware. I plan on buying a new computer which uses Win7 Home 64 bit OS.

The vendor's Web site says "The software now runs on a Windows 64-bit operating system (as long as it is 32-bit compatible)"

I'm not sure exactly what the above statement is trying to say - 'that it runs on a 64 bit OS' "(as long as it is 32-bit compatible)" - what does that mean?

Thanks

You can run 32 bit Programs on W7 pro, A majority of my programs are 32 bit and I run W7 Pro 64 bit. That being said since I am not familiar with the program you are referring to I cannot say it will or will not work.

You can use the Windows Compatibility Centre to confirm the vendor's claim.
