Installing Hp deskjet 5440 driver

has anyone found a solution to installing a printer driver for an HP deskjet 5440

HP has not come up with any drivers for Windows 7 ATM, have you tried Vista drivers ?

Yeah, I'd have thought the Vista drivers should work ok

No, I have tried to load the vista app and it does not support it. I talked to the IT support team at Hp they said the drivers would be updated near the time of windows 7 release. They said that even if I purchased a new printer, it would not contain the drivers for windows 7. So far I am printerless. I hope anyone has some ideas, I am all ears.

What error do you get when you try to run the installation software? Have you tried running it in compatibility mode to see if that helps?
