install driver problem

Seamus J. Wilson

Just uploaded my work products to the new windows 7 machine. Next step was
to load driver for my MS wireless mouse and keyboard. Unfortunately I
grabbed an out of date Logitech CD. It started to load but never finished
before I discovered my blunder.
Next I secured the MS cd and proceeded to load it but got incompatible
driver message. It tried to remove the remnants of the Logitech driver but
could not. I tried to remove the driver with add/remove program but could
not delete all of it. Still cannot load the MS driver for the wireless mouse
and keyboard because of incompatibility.

How can I get rid of the Logitech program remnant?

Thank you,
Seamus. Wilson

This is an old post, but may help you:

Also check in task manager to make sure none of the Logitech software is
running before trying an uninstall.

You might try Revo Uninstaller
http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html and see
if that helps.

In addition to the other suggestions, you might go ahead and fully
install the Logitech software, and *then* try to uninstall it. Perhaps
the partial installation (aborted) is the reason why it won't
uninstall cleanly.

Thank you all for the responses.
I tried the revo uninstaller but it went into a loop and was unsuccessful.
I looked for other uninstallers and used "your uninstaller" and it deleted
the dregs of the problem. Loaded the MS CD for the wireless keyboard and
mouse and all is well.
Thank you all,
Seamus J.
