including date to time on taskbar?

Using W7 home premium 64 bit.
My taskbar shows the computer time on the right end. Is there way to
make the date appear in the taskbar along with the time? I would prefer
to not use a desktop gadget for this.
Thanks.

If your taskbar is at the default height (1 row) I think it is hidden. I
have my taskbar at a height of 3 (meaning it can show 3 rows of running
applications) and it shows...

4:35 PM
Friday
10/22/2010

(at least as of this writing. Numbers will be different in a minute...)

not expand.

Unlocked it and was able to do it.

Any other way to make the date show on the taskbar? perhaps with an add-on?

This works for my 64 bit HP

Resize the taskbar

You can resize the taskbar to create additional space for buttons and
toolbars.

Right-click an empty area on the taskbar. If Lock the Taskbar has a check
mark next to it, the taskbar is locked. Unlock it by clicking Lock the
Taskbar, which removes the check mark.

Point to the edge of the taskbar until the pointer changes into a
double-headed arrow?? , and then drag the border to make the taskbar the
size you want.

I have mine set so it shows the date and time. If I drag it up a little
higher it will also show the day.

I see what you want already. Maybe it's the resolution?

My single row shows:
4:12 PM
10/22/2010

Raising it to 2 (or more) rows shows:
4:12 PM
Friday
10/22/2010

My resolution is 1920 x 1080

Grab the taskbar and flip it up to the side so it is along the side of
the desktop vertically. Takes up less desktop space and provides more
vertical area for applications.

?It shows time and date on single row if you use large icons, but only the time if you use small
icons.

I take it you don't want to hover the mouse over it? That shows the date
without wasting screen space with a huge taskbar.

Will try that for a while. Thanks.

I discovered I could not see the date because I was using small icons
when it was at the bottom. Large icons are really too huge.
Shame that one cannot have small icons and the date showing on the same
line as the time.

Nah, it is not the resolution. It is that I had the taskbar use small
icons. With small icons only the time shows. With large icons the date
and time show. Large icons are just too big when you are used to the
small icons.

I am now playing with the taskbar vertical which may turn out to be the
best of both worlds.

I have my resolution set at 1366 x 768. Maybe a higher resolution might
make the difference. Don't know.

That's what I've done so far. But it would be so much more convenient to
just "glance" at the taskbar without the extra time and effort of moving
the mouse to it. I'm now trying to live with a vertical taskbar to see
how I like it.

Thanks. I used to use T clock but it would not work on my system. Will
try this version.
Here is a history, copied from the program "About" window:

"The Original T-Clock was written by Kazubon in the mid to late 90's.
It was released with Source Code included so that others could learn
from and expand on its features."

"T-Clock2 is a modified version of Kazubon's Original code written by
Two_toNe in 2003. Two_toNe added many new features that allowed
it to run properly with the then new Windows XP themes."

"T-Clock x64 is my rewrite of their code which allows it to run on Windows
Vista & XP x64 Editions. While I have removed some of T-Clock's previous
functionality, I feel this makes it a more "Administrator Friendly"
application
as it no longer requires elevated privileges to run."

Here is a snapshot that shows the display options and date-time all in
one line:

It's not the resolution, it is the Small Icons vs. Large Icons. At my
resolution, large icons are pretty small.

Just what I needed. Now I have the narrow small icon bottom taskbar
with both date and time showing. Should have been the W 7 default.

Thank you very much. Now I have to figure out how to make the quick menu
choices display..... so I can use them. There does not seem to be a help
file available.

Bitch, bitch, bitch. :)

No, you'll just have to T&E it. I haven't messed with the other options,
just use the time display.
