You don't say whether you tried the usual method of going to Control
Panel | Remove a program, so I would start there. In fact, I just
removed Office Starter 2010 from a laptop last week and it went fine.

Did not UNINSTALL in Control Panel or by Forced Uninstall.............

You have to be a bit more clear if you want more help.

Maybe someone else can figure out what you've tried and what the
results have been so far.

Well, I'd say either he didn't try to use those methods, or else he did
try but they failed. Or maybe something else?

At first I thought I was rereading your post because it had managed not
to get marked as read by my newsreader, but finally I realized that Rudy
was using Windows Live Mail, and that it was a new post (with your text
not properly quoted), so somewhere in that post might have been Rudy's
contribution :)

Can't say for sure this will help, but there is a Fixit on this page
for that.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301/en-us#FixItForMe

"Office 2010 suites

To uninstall the 2010 Microsoft Office suite automatically, click
the Fix this problem button or link. Click Run in the File Download
dialog box, and then follow the steps in the Fix it wizard.

Microsoft Fix it 50450
"

Now, the first thing to notice about that, is the Fixit is a .msi
file. If that extension has "msiexec" from the Windows Installer
bound to it, double clicking the .msi should work. If, in fact,
your Windows installer and the associated msiexec.exe are damaged
in some way, then both attempting to uninstall the normal way,
as well as using that Fixit, will fail. (This is the file I got.)

http://download.microsoft.com/downl...3D6-9E81-E236AD9ED2A5/MicrosoftFixit50450.msi

Windows Installer handles both installing and uninstalling things.
Just as Installshield (a third party product) would.

FYI, Rudy top posted his reply.
Then CJ C&P to be below his reply.

I had no problem seeing the reply. Perhaps you have a setting in your
client that needs to be pruned.

Yes. I have not installed a filter against WLM :)

There is no setting in my client, or any client, AFAICT, that can
correct Windows Live Mail's lack of quoting. If there were, we'd be
close to defeating the Turing test.

FYI, if you had read my post more carefully, you would've understood
that I found Rudy's reply. It was one line stuffed up at the top of the
post; I looked there in spite of the fact that the post resembled, as I
said, a duplicate of Char's post. Among other clues I used: the sender
wasn't Char Jackson...

Found the following "possible solution".....but haven't tried it yet......
your comment...PLEASE.............

Method 1 – The Manual solution
Since the Setup.xml file is missing. All you have to do is to copy the
setup.xml file from the groove folder from the source and paste it in
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\OFFICE14\Office Setup
Controller\Groove.en-us\

Once done, run the uninstaller again and everything will be smooth again.
For the sake of convenience I have provided both x86(32-bit) and x64(64-bit)
setup.xml files in one simple zip archive. Just grab it and put it in the
Groove folder as mentioned above.
Setup.xml (x86 and x64)

So why did the uninstall fail the first time ? Presumably it
had the setup.xml file then, too. If the setup.xml is at all
dynamic, and has things added to it over time, maybe it won't
match now ?

If your install directory seemed perfectly intact, it might be
tempting to follow the procedure. But the Fixit presumably, is
designed to handle more than that.

You could also ask in an Office forum of some sort, for opinions.
