How To Resume Sleep Mode w/Mouse or Keyboard?

How do I resume from Sleep Mode with a keystroke or mouse gesture rather than with the power button? Only the power button works.

Current Settings:

Control Panel/Power Options/Power Button/Shut Down

Device Manager/Mouse/Power Management "Allow this device to wake computer" (keyboard too)

If you already enabled the mouse/keyboard to wake the system from within Windows and it doesn't work, then make sure you also have it enabled from within the system's BIOS. :)

Sorry, but I'm not knowledgeable enough to know how to do that. Would you be able to break that process down it steps for me? I would greatly appreciate it!
