how to reconnect Live Mail to my browser

Q

Quilljar

When I click on a link to a web page in an email, I used to get taken
straight to my default browser, but now in Windows Live Mail I just get an
error message saying 'There was a problem sending the command to the
program'
Can anyone tell me how to correct this?
I have tried various MS help forums but no success

First thing I would try: go to Control Panel | Default Programs | Set
Program Access and Computer Defaults | Custom | Choose Default Email
Program. I would then set it to something *other than* WLM, choose OK,
log off, log back on, then go back to Control Panel and choose WLM.

Except the problem is the default browser, not the default e-mail
program. So I have two hypotheses:

1. You misread the OP
2. You're way ahead of me and I have failed to understand the valid
solution :)

or 3: I was thinking "browser" when I started, but spaced out to "email
program" while I was looking up the menus in Control panel. I'm too
easily distracted... oh, look, a flying turtle! I wonder when it will
be time to cut my toenails again? Did you say something?

So, what I really meant was to change to browser default to something
else, then back again. I guess it wouldn't hurt to do it with the email
program, too. Sometimes Windows gets confused and you have to remind it
what's what.

You made my day with that!

And that seems to qualify as a case of my #2 above.

Now I am really confused, and I never even SAW the turtle.

I tried your suggestions several times but still the web links in emails and
newsgroups do not result in a web browser page coming up. Ah well, I shall
just have to cut and paste links again :-(
